Wild Pear Beach

An idyllic little beach. accessed by a steep pathway, with rocks, sand and shingle, and freshwater streams running down the cliff.

Although technically an unofficial beach, the local council recognise, and accept it's status as a naturist haven.

From the car park at Combe Martin take the pathway towards Little Hangman. After passing a resting place, resembling a bus shelter, and through a gateway, when you can see the beach below,  bear off to the left, and follow a narrow winding path down to the beach.

The steps at the bottom, which have been washed away occasionally, have been replaced by the National Trust. The walk is just over a mile, quite strenuous, but well worth it.

Note! Map marker may only indicate an approximate location. Except where otherwise stated, visits to clubs and swims must always be pre-arranged with the event organisers.

The steps at the bottom have been washed away again. I went on 26 August 2015. But you can still get down onto the beach, just do not go just after it has rained the day before, as the rainwater flows that way.
