This page describes the latest extension to the censorship so prevalent in this country. It is a serious threat to the civil liberties of this country, a serious threat to the health and well-being of the young people of this country, and a serious threat to Naturism.
Consultation on Parental Controls
The Department for Education consultation on some aspects concluded on 6 September but it was so ambiguous and biased that it is positively dangerous. Accordingly we wrote to the ministers requesting that the consultation be withdrawn. They will refuse of course, anything else would mean admitting that their bureaucrats got it wrong, but it is a necessary step. Please write to your MP to complain about the lack of protection for Freedom of Expression, protection that the government is required to provide by law, and the flawed consultation. We have a page providing a more in depth description of the very serious failings of this consultation.
So who is behind this?
Why?
We can only conclude that it is a mixture of prejudice, politics and some genuine concern for children. However, putting children first means following the objective evidence, not ideology. Some of the proposals may be justified but they are going far, far further than that. They certainly haven't put forward any reason to censor naturist nudity but it is a near certainty that they will, and the mobile operators already do. It is also a certainty that they will encourage attitudes that will result in widespread and often serious harm to the children and young people that they claim to be protecting.
What?
Anything that comes into a household over the internet. They are also seeking powers to shut down sections of the internet and mobile phone system when required for "national security". Everything that a tyrant would need will have been provided.
How different is China?
That is a serious question. At the very least the UK government will have taken a big step in that direction and the difficult bit will have been done. Once censorship is in place the politicians will not be able to resist the temptation to extend it.
Libel
Censoring Naturism is a statement that it is is dangerous and that is libel. They are saying that our lifestyle is equivalent to pornography. They are saying that Naturism is so dangerous that freedom of speech, one of the most fundamental rights in a democracy, can be denied, to us. Denying the means of expression is denying freedom of expression.
Others who will probably be censored
This list has only just been started. The list of potential victims is enormous.

So who is behind this?
- The prime suspect is Claire Perry, MP,
- aided and abetted by Nadine Dorries, MP,
- with the cooperation of Ed Vaizey Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries
- and the approval of David Cameron, Prime Minister.

- This National Trust page on Studland will almost certainly be censored. They will come under increasing pressure to censor their statues and paintings.
- The Scar Project Breast Cancer is not a Pink Ribbon. Censoring is near certain.
