In France, there are over 80 "commercial" naturist locations, ranging from the very large like Cap d'Agde, which is virtually the size of a small town, to small family run concerns where the emphasis is on personal, friendly service. In addition, there are over 200 clubs spread throughout the country and over 150 naturist beaches along the coastal regions and beside inland waters.

Although the emphasis is towards camping/caravanning, many sites do have accommodation for hire (mobile homes, chalets, flats or gites). The majority of the holiday centres tend to be towards the southern part of the country, where there is more of a guarantee of warmer weather, whilst most clubs are located in the northern half.
