In August 2011, we spent a very pleasant four days at Abbott’s Glen Inn in Southern Vermont. This is a delightful spot, set in 55 acres of beautiful North American countryside. The inn has its own freshwater swimming pond and 1500 feet of river frontage for swimming and tubing.
The accommodation is first-class. We stayed in a lovely lodge decorated in New England-style.
Amy and Lindy, the owners, make you very welcome and serve superb breakfasts around the table in the beautifully-appointed dining room. There is also the option of having evening meals at the weekends.
There is a hot tub and sauna for guests and lively evenings can be spent dancing in the Sugar Shack (this name refers to the buildings in Vermont where the Maple syrup was made). Abbott’s Glen is a short drive away from the Ledges, which is a naturist area on a large lake where you can swim, canoe or just sunbathe.
We can thoroughly reccommend Abbott’s Glen and although we visited in the summer, there is plenty to do there all year round.
Lindy is an excellent host providing good music , he even played “Moonlight in Vermont” for us as we gazed at a full-moon on a beautiful evening. Amy is an excellent cook.... this is where fine dining meets naturism.
We suggest that you visit their website where more details can be found.
