  1. ALL
    DAY

    29 July 2018

    Weather looks horrible!
It's likely to be a washout!

Day chosen for Holkham Beach Day (high tide 08:17).

This year we are holding our beach day on Sunday 29th July 2018. Nigel and Cath will be there from 11:30 until late afternoon - look out for the BN flag and the orange tent. We would love to meet up with you. Low tide will be around lunch time so we will have plenty of beach to enjoy. We need to do all we can to ensure that this beach continues to be open to naturists so we welcome your support.
Please bring a picnic and something to drink. If you have some beach games such as boules or volleyball, please bring them along (drop us a line if you have so that we can make sure there are no duplicates). We have a swingball set.

This map (from Open Street Map) shows at the red star the turning into Lady Anne's Drive (or Road depending on which map you use), which is the car park for the beach (pay-and-display). It is opposite the Victoria pub, so the postcode NR23 1RG will get you to the turning. The blue star is where you will park if the car park is not too full, then there is a walk of a little over 2000 metres to the beach which starts roughly at the black star. It is possible to walk along the beach, or for easier walking go along the path behind the beach past the holiday cottage to the crossroads and then turn right for the beach.
Please remember that the part of the beach above high water, and the dunes, are owned by the Holkham Estate and they do not permit naturism there. Our date and time are chosen to ensure there will be plenty of beach below high water.
We hope to see you there!

    29 July 2018 08:00      14:30

Sunday 29th July Hillside cordially invites BN members, members of BN member clubs & all other genuine Naturists to its SUMMER OPEN SOCIAL. There’s no official start time, just drop in from around 10.45 am. Marshalling of our car-park spaces will make your day enjoyable from the start. There will be a ‘bring and share’ buffet’ (each of us bringing some savoury, dessert or drink to be shared). There will be tea and coffee made available in the pavilion. We’re all looking forward to having a chat again with members, old & new friends & first time visitors. Depending on the weather, we can organise an ad hoc game of mölkky or boules. We also have a Swedish-style sauna with a powerful log burner & a hot and cold shower by its entrance. Hopefully the sun will be shining & we can all sunbathe on the gorgeous multicoloured flower-surrounded lawn.   Our new feature this summer: we have an extended woodland nature trail that takes us all around our grounds with a well maintained track. The terrain is varied and as you walk along the view changes constantly from eye-catching patches of wild flowers with butterflies to deeper woodland and bracken. Then the sound of channelled water trickling down the hill, to the first view of the brook below. The sunshine piercing through the canopy, russle of leaves, the light summer breeze, the sound of birds accompany you all along the path to the little waterfall. We end with an easy climb heading towards the intriguing Lord Lucan’s Cave at the back of our wooden pavilion completing our full circuit.        For an invitation, please contact the North Western Sunbathing Society’s membership secretary, details on the CONTACTS page. Please note, an invitation is essential as places are limited. There’s no charge for the day, but donations are always welcome. http://www.hillside-nwss.16mb.com/Contacts/

On your first visit, the Arlington Baths Club will ask you to complete a health declaration which will be retained by them.
Do I need to be naked?
There is an expectation that adults will be nude when swimming. Children can wear a swimming costume if they wish – although most don’t. You can wear a towel in the other facilities, but again most people don’t.

Towels are provided for drying and sitting/lying on.
To preserve others' privacy, phones and photography are not allowed.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits, Sunday newspapers and information about naturist events and holidays are available in the upstairs lounge (complimentary, but donations always welcome.) Members meet there for a blether and to catch up on the latest news.
The building is locked at 9.30pm, so please aim to leave by 9.15pm.
I like Glasgow Continental, how can I start coming regularly?
Next time you come, bring your ID and one passport-style photograph 15 minutes before the swim starts and you can apply for the Glasgow Continental Card. The card runs April to March and costs £5 per year for adults, £2 for young adults, U26, and full-time students (proof of age/student status required).
FT students & U26 may gain entry to the swim for £7 each time for the first two months of their membership.
