As many of you know we are joining forces with BN members and people who just want to Skinny Dip to raise funds across the rest of the UK ans part of the Great British Skinny Dip 2021.
Check out all the information at www.greatbritishskinnydip.co.uk.

Our event will be on Sunday 5th September 2021 on Portstewart Strand from 11am until 3pm (high tide is 10.30am).
The National Trust will cordon off the last 3 sections of the Strand near the river mouth for our exclusive use and will not charge for you to bring your car on to the beach if you tell them you are part of the GBSD. Lifeguards will be on duty on the day of course.

It would be great to have as many people as possible taking part and raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
So if you want to get involved by getting sponsored by friends and family please go to the Just Giving Page, choose to set up a page for money to be raised to go to Charity and search for BHF and all the details will be there.
If you want to download the sponsorship form from the GBSD web page and raise money the good old fashioned way then do so and bring your sponsorship with you on the day.
If you do not want to get sponsored then come along on the day and make a £10 donation on the day and join in the fun.

So why not pack a picnic and come and join the fun on Sunday 5th September.

We hope this will become a regular event in the calendar and go from strength to strength in years to come.
So maybe you have friends would wouldn't get involved in Naturism but a Skinny Dip is  a fun way to allow them to dip a toe literally, why not ask them to come along or at least sponsor you.

We hope the weather will be kind to us and look forward to seeing you there and if you want more information just email us.
    Gary & Noreen

A Message to All Skinny Dippers from British Heart Foundation (NI)

Thank you so much for taking on The Great British Skinny Dip in aid of British Heart Foundation Northern Ireland on the charity’s 60th birthday!
We’re the largest independent funder of research into heart and circulatory disease in Northern Ireland (NI). Devastatingly, however the pandemic has cut our ability to fund new life saving research in half. This means that your participation this September means even more to heart patients. We’d be incredibly grateful if you could make a £10 donation to take part.

We’d also love for you to ask for sponsorship to take part in the skinny dip and set a target of just £60 in celebration of the charity’s 60th birthday. To set up your own fund raising page, please visit Just Giving. Remember to share your fund raising page via social media to encourage donations. Around 225,000 people are living with heart and circulatory diseases here so telling people that you’re supporting BHF NI will most certainly strike a chord with many.

Thank you so much again for your support! Happy skinny dipping!!

    Órla
    BHF (NI) Fund raising Manager

Noah's Ark Swim, along with most clubs and swims has been greatly affected by the Covid pandemic and, in our case, causing it to close down temporarily. We are hopeful for a partial return at the beginning of September at our regular times. Please see our website for up to date information. We are very sorry that we have not been there for the past 18 months but, rest assure we will be back.

Subway: The baths are a short walk from St George's Cross subway station. The Subway closes at 6.10pm on Sundays, so you would need to plan an alternative for your return journey.
Cycle: The nearest Nextbike stations are at St George's Cross and University of Glasgow (East). There is cycle parking opposite the Arlington Baths Club (Sheffield-type stands). You can also lock your bike to the railings at the baths.
    Bus: First Group 4/4A, 6/6A.

Please note that delays are expected on the M8 approach to Charing Cross for the next four years while remedial repairs are made to the Woodside flyover.
    View Openstreetmap here.

    How much does it cost?
The entry price is £10 for adults over 25 years old, £7 for 18-25 and students over 18 (evidence of status required) by PayPal through your membermojo account. Towel & sauna sheet hire is included. The Sunday Swim is free to Arlington Baths Club members.
    The lockers take 20p & £1 coins.

    Who can attend?
Holders of the The Sunday Swim card.
Members of Arlington Baths Club can attend free.
Visitors, guests and newcomers to the swim are welcome, but must contact us in advance. It's unlikely that we would be able to accept you at less than two weeks' notice. If you do not hold one of the cards above, you must bring photo ID and proof of address eg passport & utility bill; the EU photo-driving licence covers both.
At your first visit, you will need to complete a health form for The Arlington Baths Club, which will be retained by them, and a registration form for The Sunday Swim. We expect you to purchase a swim card on your return visit. This also applies to members of BN. The swim card is valid for the year April to March inclusive. Renewals due by April.

Do I need to be naked?
There is an expectation that you will be nude when swimming. You can wear a towel in the other facilities, but again most people don’t. Towels/sheets must be worn when walking in corridors, the public rooms downstairs and upstairs.

Will there be other women there?
Many women attend the swim, either on their own or with a partner or friends. Just come along - you'll receive a warm welcome.

    What is the etiquette?
Shower before entering the pool and after using the hot rooms / sauna.
Towels are provided for drying and sitting/lying on.
To preserve others' privacy, phones and photography are not allowed.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits are available in the upstairs lounge (complimentary, but donations always welcome.) Members meet there for a blether and to catch up on the latest news.
The building is locked at 9.30pm, so please aim to leave by 9.15pm.

I like The Sunday Swim. How can I start coming regularly?
Next time you come, bring your ID and one passport-style photograph 15 minutes before the swim starts and you can apply for a swim card. The card runs for 12 months from the date of joining and costs £10 per year for adults over 25, £5 for 18-25, and full-time students over 18 (proof of age/student status required).
FT students & U26 may gain entry to the swim for £7 each time for the first two months of their membership.

    What other facilities are available?
Clothed use of the gym (you will need an induction first by the baths staff.)
Naked Yoga - beginners' and improvers' classes (booking required, additional fee.)

    Sun 05 Sep 2021 18:30      19:30

This event began 22/08/21 and repeats every 2 weeks until 12/12/21

    Potteries Naturist Swimming Club
We are a friendly club, open to all naturists over 18. Why not give it a try - swim and relax in a pleasant, friendly environment. A naturist swim is just like using any other public pool, but without costumes. The same standard of behaviour is required as would be expected at a conventional public swim.
We are a member club of British Naturism.
We meet on alternate Sundays at:
    Jubilee Baths,
    Nelson Place,
    Newcastle under Lyme
    Staffs., ST5 1HG.
    From 19:30 to 20:30

    Notice Board:
Swims have now restarted, alternate Sundays from 19:30 - 20:30. (Note shorter time than previously). Entrance charges have been reduced to reflect the reduction in facilities -- they will be further reviewed at the next AGM.
Some covid-19 measures remain in place:-
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before the session starts. The café area is currently a "staff-only" area, so please gather outside the School Street entrance.
At the end of the session, please be ready to depart promptly -- by 20:40. This is to give the staff time to clean before they leave.
Use of face coverings in the reception area, stairwells and corridors is encouraged and hand sanitiser will be available for use.
Prior to the relaxing of restrictions on 19th July, the number of pool users was restricted to 9 -- too few to make swims viable. Following relaxation of the covid-19 restrictions, maximum occupancy is 40.
Only the smaller, 12m pool is available - the fitness equipment is no longer in place. The pool itself due to its depth is NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN.
The sauna suite no longer exists.
There may be changes to the entrance charges in due course, depending on numbers attending. More details will be posted when known.
(Visitors, please bring ID or BN card).

    * Photo permission kindly given by friend & YBN member for the promotion of our swim *
