Naked Heart Walks

Feel the breeze on your skin as you raise money for the British Heart Foundation at a Naked Heart Walk!

What are Naked Heart Walks?

Naked Heart Walks are sponsored walks co-hosted by British Naturism and our charity partner, the BHF, to achieve our mutual goal of keeping people healthy and fit. Walking is a great way to get some exercise, and it’s even more fun in the nude! Go on … do something exhilarating!

Last year, we walked on the grounds of stately homes, in gorgeous gardens and woods – and even in the grounds of a Cold War bunker! The events gave participants a chance to ditch their clothes, meet like-minded, relaxed people and experience the joys of being naked in the great outdoors … and there are more on the way in 2023!

This year, we’re making the decision to participate in a Naked Heart Walk even easier. Everyone will be welcome! Many of the venues will allow dogs too.

Heart and circulatory diseases are the world’s biggest killers, and they can affect anyone, including you. But thanks to research the British Heart Foundation is funding, there’s hope! BHF backs the brightest scientific minds – experts with the power to find treatments and cures that could make a huge difference to your life and the lives of your family and friends.

 FAQs

  • You must book in advance and bring your ticket with you along with your BN membership card or other form of photo ID. This is to ensure the integrity of the event.

  • Only the BN authorized photographer is allowed to take photos, and participants will be given a coloured wrist band to indicate their consent – or not – to be included in pictures.

  • One theme of the NHW’s is to raise money for the life-saving work of BHF. There are two price points, a lower one with a pledge to raise sponsorship and a higher one with no requirement for sponsorship.

  • If you are new to naturism then this is the perfect incentive to give it a go, and for a good cause. We accept some people may prefer to wear clothes; if that’s you then bring a bag as you may change your mind half way around when you see the others enjoying all that naturism brings.

  • We get wet! Normal naturist protocol applies and if it turns cold then you put on a mac. The event will still go ahead and the weather won’t dampen the fun.

  • Proper walking boots or sturdy shoes are a must (except Morecambe Bay where sandals or bare feet are better on sand). Likewise, consider a hat or sun cream if it’s hot and bring some water.

  • Tell the BN steward you are by yourself and they’ll make you feel welcome and introduce you to the others.

For some people new to naturism, the anonymity of these events can be a real bonus.

  • That will all depend on which venue you choose. The walks vary in length, but are all at a gentle pace and in groups so you won’t get lost. Check the details for the walk you are interested in as some venues have a café and others offer refreshments, eg afternoon tea, bookable with your entrance fee.

  • These events are for 18+ only. As for dogs, that depends on the venue so check the description.

  • You get a BHF medal! A bonus of these walks, apart from the body positive benefits of naturism and raising money for a good cause, is to share the experience with your friends before the event to raise sponsorship and afterward by showing off your medal as a conversation starter.
