  2. The weather on the way to BN’s 60th anniversary Jamboree in Hay-on-Wye, Wales on September 12 was, as it nearly always is when my partner Dave and I are en route to a nudie event, rotten. But – as also usually happens – by the time we arrived at our destination, Baskerville Hall, things were looking up, and they continued to look up as the days unfolded. It was our first Naturist festival, and it was a corker! Baskerville Hall was the perfect venue for the Jamboree, and it easily handled us

  4. 2019 saw us move to the lovely Best Western Hotel Royale - a hotel within the same Oceana group that we’d used previously. It meant sacrificing the sea views but we got a swimming pool so nobody minded - and the hotel was definitely a step up from The Ocean Beach. The Bournemouth weekend always has a lovely feel to it, a real sense of community. It may not have the adrenaline packed pace of Nudefest but you are never too far away from the next activity or entertainment. The spacious lounge bar
  5. At the end of June Buckinghamshire Naturist club Diogenes hosted British Naturism for a day of Miniten and Pickleball. Sixteen BN Members joined me for an introduction and knockabout on the courts. We were greeted by Mike and Lorna from the club who gave us a tour of the beautiful grounds off before we made our way to the four miniten courts and soon we were all playing. After a couple of hours we retired to the sun lawn for lunch and a swim, and enjoyed the British summer - and an ice crea
  6. News and updates are coming thick and fast these days from British Naturism and with all our various channels it can be difficult to keep up... 7. Got a friend who wants to know more about BN?  Want to show people in your club or who you meet on holiday why they should be joining us?  Need a brochure to give to your local swimming pool to convince them to organise a skinny dip?  Want to find out more about British Naturism’s activities? Here’s the answer - BN’s NEW Guide to 2020, a full colour, fully illustrated promotional publication that has it all - a guide to British Naturism in 2020 including our events, our campa
  8. The Corrour estate once again provided an amazing location for a weekend of naked hiking and skinny dipping, writes Alan Ellison With 20 participants staying at the hostel or camping, many hundreds of naked kilometres were covered around Loch Ossian and the surrounding bens and glens. The hostel is right next to Loch Ossian so most enjoyed several refreshing dips in the loch over the weekend, followed up by warming up next to the wood-burning stove in the cozy kitchen. A few ticks were picked up
  9. Twenty BN members arrived at Spilt to board the Majestic for a cruise around the National Park Islands, in the Adriatic off the coast of Croatia. A free drink was given by the Captain to welcome everyone and we were taught how to say cheers in Croatian. Each day the boat sailed at 7am, with breakfast at 8am and a three course lunch at 1pm. Those wanting an evening meal did so on shore, but the bar opened at 11am and I’m sure did not close.  Sunday bought us into the KRKA National Park where you
  10. Our annual event takes place soon - have you booked your place? The venue is the Woodside Leisure Centre in Watford, Herts and is an 8-lane short-course competition pool featuring starting blocks and electronic timing. There is a café that will be open during the gala. Registration for races is done on the night – but tickets must be purchased by entrants in advance. 12. As we head towards Autumn, we can look back fondly on the new experiences we will all have had as Naturists during the warmer summer months (and forget about the cold and wet days!) Although opportunities for outdoor Naturism may be scaling down for many of us, the BN Shop continues to provide a great way to continue to show your support for Naturism when clothes are required – or around the house Our popular range of t-shirts and hoodies are still available. You can choose from design
  13. It has been great to see healthy levels of interest from BN members and other Naturists in our range of merchandise, offered for sale on our shop website where you will find branded clothing, towels, mugs, flasks and sports bottles, tea towels and even doormats. There's even a gift card option for you to treat the Naturist in your life. As we expected, our new range of print-on-demand towels have proved very popular, and it has been great to see your pictures of them gracing different beach
  14. The best description of the Bournemouth Legends Weekender is probably "infectious."  No, I don’t mean that we all went home with influenza; I mean that Naturism was the true winner of the weekend, spreading its positive energy to everyone who came into contact with it. The theme for the weekend was “Music Legends,” featuring tributes to some of the greatest artists who are no longer with us: Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, and, of course, the King himself, Elvis Presley.
  15. If you are British Naturism member, come and help shape the future of our wonderful, active, vibrant organisation, that works for Naturism and Naturists everywhere. The afternoon will include a presentation on what we're up to and a Q&A session. Reserve your place: https://shop.bn.org.uk/pages/bnonline
  16. It’s great to announce that we had one of the busiest national galas in years take place at Aylestone Leisure Centre near Leicester. Around 60 swimmers took to the pool for an evening of both competitive an ‘have a go’ swimming. That’s the real attraction of the BN Gala. Nobody is expected to be the next Olympian and whilst it’s hard not to notice there are some are better swimmers than others - it’s about taking part, having fun and challenging yourself. It’s all official - British Naturis
  17. The sun has risen, the morning mist has cleared, the flags are flying, and we are at the dawn of Nudefest 2023! It is already hot in Somerset and the gates are about to open.  The schedule is packed throughout the week and we look forward to seeing you all very soon.
  18. Next Monday evening  (8th February) we will be delighted to welcome mother and daughter, Anja and Charlotte, from the popular French Naturist campsite La Petite Brenne. Anja and husband Carel gave up their life in Utrecht, Netherlands and purchased an old site which after much work, blossomed into the lovely resort it is today. Charlotte was six years old at that time, but is now taking over the running of the place. Come and hear about their journey and plans for the future. www.lapet
  19. Next Monday's Forum Live will be dedicated to one of our popular debate and discussion sessions - with a twist. The twist is that we can't tell you what the subject will be. Sounds intriguing? Actually, it's quite exciting as we expect some important news to be announced tomorrow or Monday which we will all want to talk about. If that news is delayed, then we'll revert to a more usual Forum Live debate session. Whatever happens, you know you want to be there! Join us on Monday 17
  20. The Forum Live is going to take a break over the next few weeks, returning in September.  We already have a great line-up of guests and subjects including well-known global Naturists, prominent journalists, holiday resorts and presentations on the work British Naturism is doing - and the people behind it. Suggestions for guests and topics always welcome... See you all soon
  21. BN's Monday night online session The Forum Live continues to be popular, attracting an average of 60/70 attendees each week. It's (mostly) hosted by me and lasts an hour, in which we bring you a great variety of guests and topics to keep you informed and entertained - like all the best chat shows! Find a list of them all here. You even get the chance to ask questions of your own. It’s free to attend for BN members and members of overseas Naturist federations, and the best bit, as with all o
  22. Earlier this year, Channel 4 aired a programme called 'Naked Education' a mould-breaking series that considered the reality of the normal human body and pushed people to confront their own issues and gain in self-belief as a result. The programme also featured full-frontal nudity before the watershed and brought teenagers face to face with naked people. Members of British Naturism were involved and next Monday, 18 September, I'm delighted to say that some of them have agreed to come on The
  23. Next Monday (20 Feb) I'm pleased to report that my guests will be representatives of the New Zealand Naturist Federation. I'll be speaking to Alice de Wet (pictured), NZNF's (volunteer) marketing manager. She's also the secretary at Auckland Outdoor Naturist Club (AONC) and runs a Women’s Naturist Group on Facebook. She'll be joined by David Saunders, recently elected President of the federation who has been a Naturist since 1973.  We'll be treated to a slideshow of images of Natu
  24. As you will have read, British Naturism’s new site opens this weekend and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first guests!   Owning and operating a site is a brand new venture for British Naturism. We’re excited about the possibilities - for our members, for visitors and for the future of Naturism in the UK. A great deal of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to get it ready. That’s both practical work on the site itself - 1673 man hours, 249 trees and bushes pruned, 186 tonnes o
  25. Hi folks! Next week's The Forum Live session will be dedicated to an AGM follow-up if it is felt that extra discussion or question time after the meeting has ended on Sunday afternoon, would be useful. If not, we'll run one of our usual, popular debates - topic to be decided nearer the time. Join the session on the night over in the BN shop (and look out for news about the next guest from the USA...)
