Our guest next week (Monday 9th November) will be British Naturism's International Director Edwin KIlby.
Edwin's been a naturist for over 30 years – for a short time as a club member but mostly free-range – and a member of BN since 1990. Edwin and his partner Judith developed their love of Naturism during numerous visits to the Greek Islands in the 1990s. Their success in seeking out beaches where it was possible to swim and sunbathe nude led Edwin to write down his experiences and compile them into a much-celebrated and popular website called Captain Barefoot’s Naturist Guide to the Greek Islands.
Edwin is a qualified barrister and spent most of his career in government service working on European and international legal policy. He retired in early 2016, a few months before the EU referendum. Since then he occupied his time campaigning to save his local village pub, as an occasional film extra, as producer of the local village pantomime and as a life model.
In 2018 he was co-opted onto the EC as international officer, before being elected as International Director in 2019; however, he soon found that a director is not limited to a particular area and he has been playing a full role in the management of the organisation.
Among other things, Edwin proposed and has been helping to co-ordinate the Global Naturist Forum, an unique online event which is due to take place next weekend.
So, there's lots to discuss! Book your place as soon as you can...
