Volunteers’ Week returns this year from 2 to 8 June 2025 and British Naturism will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.
Launched in 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK, celebrating the spirit of volunteering that enriches communities each year.
Volunteers' Week is a chance to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. Thanks to them, the naturist community has benefited from:
Naturism and social nudity being more widely accepted among individuals, communities and society, and in public places;
improved recognition of the social, mental and physical health benefits of Naturism so that people can confidently communicate these to others;
access to Naturist activities and lifestyle choices in a wide variety of settings without discrimination.
John Gelder, Volunteering Officer said “Our volunteers give so much to our organisation, without them we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Thank you to each and every one of you”.
“Volunteers bring a richness to organisations like British Naturism. There is no better time to recognise the diversity of our volunteers and celebrate the difference that volunteering makes than during Volunteers’ Week. Without volunteers the organisation just simply could not function, with so many people giving up their time and going above and beyond. The week is a chance for all of us to show just how vital they are to the work British Naturism and to naturist communities everywhere.”
It’s inspiring to see more people participating in volunteering each year so if you’d like to be more involved with British Naturism why not register your interest in volunteering HERE (member login required).
It will take you less than two minutes to create and save your own volunteering profile (perhaps a little longer if you want to add content to the text-free boxes).
To find out more about British Naturism’s volunteering programme see the volunteering pages on our website. Together we can:
enable the organisation to function and deliver its services;
develop, enable and support opportunities for people to practise a naturist lifestyle;
promote understanding and acceptance of the practice and benefits of naturism.
