    29 Jun 2019

Many will recall that there was a charity night last year held at Chesterfield. Well, I've decided to hold another one this year with the intention of raising much needed funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
It's going to be at the Princes Sports Club (where the Chesterfield Swim is held) If the weather's fine we can use the patio area for table tennis and Molkky. If it's wet, the we'll be using the inside where the pool is.
I'll be buying refreshments and there will be a raffle.
The cost of admission will be £8-00.  As you've seen on the regional newsletter, I need to know how many will be coming, so can you let me know, either via a private message on the forum, or email me at andrewcalow@hotmail.com

Bare All for Polar Bears is back for 2019!

    Register via
https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/yorkshire-wildlife-park-foundation-bare-all-for-polar-bears-2019-tickets-60458459881?aff=ebdssbdestsearch#tickets Let’s Get Naked For A Great Cause! If you haven’t already signed up, do it today 😊The event follows the same format as last year! Entry Fee £15.95 with a pledge of raising as much as you can for YWPF.
Listed as a vulnerable species on the IUCN Red List, the polar bear has been affected by sea ice losses in the Arctic from global warming which have caused a loss of habitat and prey. In summer 2012, sea ice losses in the Arctic were larger than the size of the United States. As we run* round the course, we get a chance to see the only polar bears in England.
    * Other modes are permitted, e,g. walking, jogging, or whatever.
