Big Days Out
BN organises a wide range of naturist events right around the the country - as well as a few overseas - so there's always something to interest you and look forward to. Some of these events are open to the public, but most are for BN and INF-FNI members - another great reason to join BN today. We've also included a few great events being organised by people and organisations that we're proud to support.
This page highlights some of our larger and most popular events but also see our Events' Calendar for a full listing.

The BN Members’ Group Winter A…
09 Mar 2019 - 16 Mar 2019The BN Members’ group Winter Activity holiday
Ramsau/Schladming, Austria 9th to 16th March 2019
We are delighted to announce that we are returning to Austria for our third winter activity group holiday. Read a report of our 2018 trip and see the photos.
Once again our base will be the 14 room Landhaus Luhrmann, a family-run hotel built in traditional Austrian style. Open all year round but not usually 100% Naturist, Chalfont Holidays have secured exclusive use for one week only meaning nudity will be permitted anywhere inside the building and also the adjoining rear garden. Accommodation will be on a half-board basis and all meals are freshly prepared on the premises. Hotel facilities include a Naturist spa with swimming pool, two saunas and a steam room.
Situated in the area of Ramsau am Dachstein and Schladming in the Styria region of Austria, Landhaus Luhrmann is approximately 90 minutes from Salzburg airport by road or rail.
This is not just a traditional ‘skiing’ holiday, the area has so much more to offer and there are plenty of other things to do if you are not a skier:
• The area is renowned for its cross country skiing routes, around 200km of varying difficulty, some of them within walking distance of the hotel.
• Walkers are well catered for with many well-signposted paths, some meandering through silent forests, with crisp white virgin snow everywhere.
• The town of Schladming - a popular winter sports centre - also has an old town with pretty shops, bars and cafés to explore.
• At the top of the Dachstein mountain, accessed by cable car, there is a glacier, an ice palace and a suspension bridge where you can walk across the edge of the mountain. With nothing beneath your feet but the open metal structure and thousands of feet drop beneath, you will see some spectacular views.
If downhill skiing is your reason for going, opportunities are of course plentiful and you can choose from pistes of all difficulties across four peaks, with links to further areas to explore beyond. The start points are all between 15 and 20 minutes from the hotel and daily transport will be provided. Ski equipment is easily hired just five minutes away from the hotel.
In addition, there will be a variety of group activities, entertainment and excursions which are likely to include dinner in a local restaurant with Austrian dishes, folk singing and dancing; Horse and Sleigh ride; tutored wine tasting in the cellar of the hotel, by hotel owner Hansmartin; night tobogganing; quizzes and karaoke.
NB - bookings must be made before the end of November 2018 to ensure this trip goes ahead. We will be asking all those who book for a smaller deposit than usual which will be fully refunded in the event that the trip is cancelled.
The Gathering 2019
03 May 2019 - 09 May 2019The Gathering 3rd May to 9th May 2019
Glenmorag Hotel, Dunoon, Argyll & Bute
SANER Region are holding the 7th International Naturist Gathering in Scotland, returning to the Glenmorag Hotel on the banks of the Clyde. Once again there is either a weekend break commencing 3pm on Friday 3rd until 10am Monday 6th May, or, a 6 night option departing on Thursday 9th May.
Accommodation is limited for this highly popular event, open to BN and INF Members only. The Gathering 2018 sold out 4 months in advance!
The rooms are either doubles or twin bedded and room shares are desirable as the number of single occupancies (hotel surcharge) are strictly limited. Accommodation is on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast basis and includes all top quality entertainment for the duration of your stay. Nudity will be standard uniform for the duration of your stay though clothes will be necessary for travel to/from some of our popular activities. These include walking in the Argyll forests, naturist swim at the local pool, journey to the Kyles of Bute boat trips. ( for Official photos of The Gathering 2018 go to the Gallery). Scotty MacDoon has requested Hawaiian Shirts for his Welcome Tea Party at 4pm – it reminds him that “The Gathering is time to party “- he's so funny! Kilts and kit off at 5pm Friday. Gatherers departing on Monday can still enjoy the day with us so book late returns!
Booking for this unique event is now open:
Prices for the weekend are £155 pp ( sea view supplements of £6).
Prices for 6 nights are £260 pp ( sea view supplements of £12).
Please note that the option for the longer stay at just £35 per night extra is exceptionally good value. When considering travel costs for homeward travel on Bank Holiday Monday the 6 night option is highly recommended and gives Gatherers the opportunity to explore the gateway to the highlands. Single supplements are £25 and £55 dependent on length of stay.
Deposits are £30 pp payable at time of booking (BN / INF membership Number required) with a single final payment due on 28th February 2019 ( irrespective of length of stay).
Please note that SANER Region has taken a reduction in commission to secure these prices but will not stint on the quality of entertainment.
To book call Urquhart Travel on 0844 871 7717. (Calls cost 7p per minute so ensure you have your BN Membership number to hand).

09 Jul 2019 - 15 Jul 2019Nudefest is back!
Nudefest 2019 will again be held at Thorney Lakes Caravan and Camping Park, Muchelney, Langport, Somerset (TA10 0DW) from Tuesday 9th July until Monday 15th July. The large rural site will be completely clothes free from 1700hrs on the Monday which gives early birds time to strip off and catch up with friends prior to the official opening at 1500hrs on Tuesday. Between these times the South West Region's Nudefest Team will be setting up plus organising a press and media morning so facilities may be limited, but we will do our best to ensure we are up and running as soon as possible.
Planning for Nudefest 2019 is well under way. Marquees, toilets, tables and chairs are booked. The Firewalking which should have taken place in 2018 will happen in 2019. The 5/10K run is scheduled for the Saturday again. As @nigel.pinkstone said in another thread "One thing we have booked is a VR firm with two consoles for the Saturday, this is a virtual reality game (you wear googles and it gives you the impression of it being real) and we have a couple of nasty games planned, think spiders crawling over you or walking the Plank from the top of a sky scraper........ " The bare bones of a plan are in place and these will be fleshed out over the coming months.
International visitors are particularly welcome at Nudefest and INF-FNI card holders receive discounted rates. Bristol International airport is a short journey away with bus connections to the nearby village of Curry Rivel via Taunton. The South West Region's Nudefest Team will then, if notified in advance, arrange collection from Curry Rivel.
The Nudefest camp site at Thorney Lakes consists of two main camping areas Orchard (previously Village, right of entrance) and Greenfield (previously Quiet, left of entrance). At the far end is Willow Field, a huge area of open space (was called the Rally field, with a large toilet trailer) and the place if you wish to pitch with friends. British Naturism will be hiring in extra luxury toilets and showers (yes, even more than 2018 - including toilets for the Willow Field which can be used when the generators are turned off) to complement the existing ones and we will work hard to create a festival feeling with a huge main marquee (even bigger than in 2018) plus several smaller ones clustered around this to form an L-shaped sheltered sun trap, with craft, massage, catering and shops areas. Everyone is encouraged to sit and chat here creating a friendly village like atmosphere to encourage the community spirit and helping people, perhaps new to naturism, relax and make friends.
The main marquee will house a well stocked bar selling locally produced ales, cider and lager manned by Tim and his friendly professional team of helpers. Attached to this will be a smaller quieter 'lounge' area with free daily papers. Further along will be the catering marquee providing meals throughout the day. The 'pop-up stage' which saw its first outing in 2018 will be renamed 'The Garden Stage' and will be available for acoustic entertainers, show and tell, workshops, stories etc. (come prepared to share your talents with us and sign up for a slot on the appropriate sign-up sheet in the Information Tent). The Information, First Aid, Shop and Craft Tents all make a welcome return, as does the Quiet Tent situated at the opposite corner of the main Events Field. Sports equipment will be available as will a range of board games.
Nudefest 2018 is the biggest naturist festival in the country and Official Opening is from 1500hrs on Tuesday with a free cream tea and live music, giving everyone a chance to say hello to one another. The programme will be worked upon in the next few months but will roughly consist of runs, walks, craft sessions, yoga, painting, fishing contest, 5k/10k run, live music, outside visits, traditional discos along with the famous silent disco, clay pigeon shooting, archery, quizzes, fire walking and a host of other activities all designed to keep people entertained from 0830 till late in the evening. Last year we had over 85 different sessions.
To help people get the most out of the week we suggest a few items people may wish to bring along, a plate and cutlery to cut down on waste if using the catering facility, pedal cycle to get around on - the site is huge, fishing equipment for the fishing contest, a local beer for the Mi Beer sessions, any musical instrument you may wish to play, if you have a hobby or interest you could use the Garden Stage to showcase your talent or interest or perhaps you would just want to bring along the kettle and a deck chair..…
The entrance fee includes all the on site entertainment which costs £1,000’s - with the exception of the fire walking which we will be asking for a financial contribution towards and outside excursions (massage and beauty treatments will also be available on site - payment direct to the providers, please).
Electric - we suggest that people consider sharing electric points with friends but the main two camping fields Orchard and Greenfield are for people staying the whole week with Willow Field, available to take any number of people and short term stays, but is limited to 48 daytime electric points (daytime electric is switched on and off when the main marquee generator is switched on and off). An electric point for charging mobiles and the like will be available in the Information Tent for those without access to electric.
Where possible we will site people together with friends (please let us know who you would like to be sited near in the Comments box on the Booking Form).
To this will be added a liberal sprinkling of Mi Beer sessions, Craft, more exercise options, games, discos (including the silent version), (probably) photography workshop(s) and as many other activities as we can squeeze into a week!
