This is an informal series of meet ups on this Lancashire beach. Organised by BN NW Region, all welcome, no charge. Please bring a picnic and (non alcoholic) drinks.
This is a sustained low key attempt to demonstrate respectful naturist presence on this beach which is in an area of the country devoid of any CO beaches. (From Wales to Scotland!) Your support is welcomed and needed.
We will be on the slope which is open to and faces the sea. There may be a skinny dipping opportunity.
Directions see below. FY8
2FB* (Free roadside parking shown by the arrow on this map link)
Walk and assemble as a group at the high tide mark next to where the #31 is on the map (about 1/4 mile). This is about 150m south of the sand collection depot which is down the track (walk easily around the chained and padlocked gates) into the dunes just south of the two large buildings in the dunes. Look out for BN banner and feather.
Directions: From end of M55, follow signs to Airport and pass this on your left and continue to Squires Gate (by the sea front). Turn left and proceed for about 1/2 mile. When dunes appear on BOTH sides of the road do a U turn and park on the side of the road facing back towards Blackpool.
FY8 2FB should get you within 100m of the recommended parking area.
(Note Lytham is a different place! We will be a mile north of St Annes on the Sea (often incorrectly known as Lytham St Annes) Pier/Rail Station/High Street).
Train to Squires Gate on Blackpool South line. Tram to Squires Gate Terminus from central Blackpool. Walk about a mile south from each of these. The Preston to Blackpool bus that goes via Lytham (not the express) goes right past and there is a bus stop at the parking location.
There will be the opportunity to attend the Poulton Swim afterwards at 7pm in the evening. (This particular swim TBC due to clash with Stoke Waterworld?) http://www.blackpool...lton/4565469186
* Revised recommended parking location after experience of the first meet up.
