Fig Leaf Villas (www.figleafvillas.com) is a small, high quality naturist resort in the Southern Peloponnese set above the Messinian Gulf amongst olive groves with wonderful views of the sea and the mountains beyond. We have three villas with a shared swimming pool set in an acre of beautiful terraced gardens dripping with bougainvillea, jasmine, oleanders, vines, and many more lush and sweet scented flowers.

All three villas have one bedroom and are ideal for a couple. However, the largest of the villas, Villa Elya, is 60sq.m. and can sleep up to 4 people using the sofa-bed in the living room, either as a double or two singles. This villa is wonderfully spacious, set in an elevated position with a huge veranda that wraps round 2 sides of the villa, enjoying a spectacular view. Villa Seeka, 40sq.m. sleeps 2 and is L-shaped and nestles in its own corner away from the other two villas and is surrounded by fig trees, oleanders, herbs and many flowers. It has two terraces, one facing the sea, shaded by bougainvillea, vines and jasmine; the other accessed by the main room and the bedroom. It also has a wood-burning stove making it very cosy for autumn, winter and spring lets. Villa Dafni is 30 sq.m and sleeps 2 and also has breathtaking views of the mountains and sea. There is a veranda on two sides plus its own garden sitting area. Please note that Villas Elya and Dafni are attached, but private from each other.

We have a large swimming pool, 10m x 5m, with a pool bar.  We give you a complimentary evening meal by the pool on the evening of your arrival, if you book four nights or more, plus a breakfast pack. That way all you need to do is arrive, settle in and relax. Quee offers social meal evenings as well which are very popular with the guests: a meze meal of around 8 Greek dishes over 4 courses and occasionally a curry night.

We also have a flood-lit boules court.

Quee also offers relaxing massages, including an Indian head massage and a shoulders, arms and back massage. Or you can combine both for a full back and head massage. These massages are pampering massages to ease out any knots and tensions in your muscles, to stimulate the lymphatic system to help remove toxins, and generally create a feeling of relaxed well-being.

The area has lots of fabulous beaches many of which are suitable for naturism- the villas have comprehensive information packs with advice about the best beaches, days out and all the fantastic historical sites that abound in our area.

The Peloponnese is unusually lush for Greece, we have mountains, and rivers that flow all year round and wonderful waterfalls nearby with clear turquoise water. The area also has many very picturesque fishing villages, and hilltop villages that haven't changed for the past century or more!

The local food and wine is excellent and some of the best vegetarian food in Europe- and still very reasonably priced- a couple can eat out with two courses and wine for around 20- 25€. Tourism in the area is very low-key, just enough to give a nice holiday atmosphere and supply visitors with good bars and tavernas, but never crowded and over-busy.

We have two airports that give access to the villas: Athens (EasyJet, BA, Ryanair and Aegeanair), and Kalamata (Thomas Cook, British Airways and easyJet).

We have now been to Fig Leaf Villas three times, staying in Villa Seeka each time. Cliff and Quee's hospitality is second to none. Everything about our holidays has been perfect. Villa Seeka is a wonderful place to stay, well kitted out with wonderful views over the gulf and lovely private areas to sit and relax, but only a stone's throw from the pool. We love sitting at the pool bar in the evenings, chatting with Cliff, Quee and the other guests. Quee's food is fantastic and Cliff's beer and wine selection includes some great local produce.

We made the most of our flight into Athens this year by driving down via Delphi and Olympia and there are lots of lovely places to see nearby suiting all tastes. Lovely sleepy Greek villages, beautiful beaches, ancient castles and ruins and of course a trip out on the yacht gives another unique perspective on this lovely part of Greece.

Needless to say we'll be back again next year, I only wish we could visit again sooner.

We've only been to Fig Leaf Villas once, but I'm sure we'll be back as it has so much to offer, including excellent value for money.

The villas are superb: comfortable, spotless, wonderfully furnished and fitted out and with that brilliant view. Most mornings I spent ages simply watching the sun come up. Quee and Cliff are all one could wish for as hosts, being attentive but not intrusive. They let us have exactly the holiday we wanted to have, providing help and advice whenever this was asked for or needed.

There's lots to do, whatever one's interests: a wide range of beaches where nudity is the norm or mostly so, wonderful landscapes and views, phenomenal ancient and not-so-ancient sites, as well as plenty of opportunities to eat very well for little cost - not forgetting that Quee is a most accomplished cook, so one can eat in without troubling the well-equipped villa kitchen!

You can read about Fig Leaf Villas in BN for Summer 2009. The sailing opportunities are reported in BN for Spring 2010, while BN for Winter 2011 has a review of the Parafotos video covering both Fig Leaf Villas and sailing on the yacht Rendezvous.

Apart from the absolutely superb accommodation with its gardens, pool, bar and wonderful food (we have never had better accommodation in any naturist resort anywhere ever) and the lovely, friendly, helpful hosts, Cliff and Quee, there is so much to do in the vicinity.

Lovely beaches, Castles at Koroni, Methoni and Pylos, Nestor’s Palace, nature reserves, beautiful verdant countryside, even at the end of June, wonderful walks, waterfalls, the Ancient City of Messene, which puts the famous city of Knossos on Crete to shame, the city of Kalamata, where the olives come from! the local fish market, the wonderful little village restaurant just up the road as well as numerous others in the locality; I could go on.

Despite being only first-time visitors to Fig Leaf Villas, we can readily appreciate why so many return to the naturist paradise that Quee and Cliff have created in this relatively little-known part of Greece. Their hard work over several years has achieved a beautifully landscaped environment, with two villas sharing a sizeable swimming pool, a delightful and inventive terraced garden and stunning views across the treetops to the sea.

We stayed in Villa Elya and loved it, not least for its spectacular balcony, with comforatble seating and terrific views across the Messenian Gulf. We made frequent use of the well-equipped kitchen in the villa in order to sample the superb seafood, fish and other produce available locally; we were spurred on by Quee's tasty welcoming meal provided on our arrival: she's a great cook!

Quee and Cliff are perfect hosts: sociable, attentive and helpful but never intrusive (we find it difficult to improve on the words of an earlier correspondent). They made sure our day out sailing on their yacht Rendezvous was especially enjoyable.

There's plenty to see and do in the neighbourhood, as others above have noted: great beaches, pretty villages, interesting classical sites, etc. We would single out the intimate naturist beaches at Smuggler's Cove and Glossa for special mention. But the biggest draw of all is the Hobbs' own naturist domain: an oasis of calm and beauty, with good company close at hand.

    June 2013,

We stayed in Villa Elya, for a week, and wished it had been longer.

Had we read the earlier comments before travelling, we would have been sceptical that anywhere ( hosts or accomodation ) could live up to the accolade presented here. BUT they did.

Villa Elya sits on a landscaped hillside, in a perfusion of fragrant and beautiful flowers looking out over the sparkling Gulf of Messinia, and beyond that the remote mountains of the Mani.

Grape vines adorn the veranda, where each morning, we sat out eating breakfast, enjoying the sunshine and the view, nourishment for body and soul.

The villas here are traditional in appearance, with marble floors and shuttered windows. Our villa was well presented, and the welcome pack perfect.

Quee and Cliff treated us as if members of their family, but were never intrusive. We enjoyed their company, sitting in the evenings having a drink or food around the pool. Quee's tasty cooking, with local produce, at our welcome meal, encouraged us to ask her to cook on several other occasions. She takes an obvious delight in this and produces delicious food.

We spent a wonderful day out sailing with Cliff and Quee, naturist as soon as out of port. They have such sailing skill and local knowledge that even when the wind hit 20 Knots, the experience was exhillarating and felt completely safe. We will book again, as soon as we are able. We had a wonderful and relaxing holiday.

Nestled on the olive clad slopes of Messinia, the Fig Leaf Villas offer the most idyllic setting for the perfect naturist holiday.  My wife and I have been coming to stay with Cliff & Quee every year since their opening season - always staying in Villa Seeka - it has become a home away from home.

There is so much to say about this beautiful part of the Peloponnese - beautiful beaches, crystal waters, plenty of things to see from ancient sites at Messini or Nestor's Palace, the old towns and forts of Koroni and Methoni, great tavernas, local markets - just ask Quee and Cliff......

But for us it was the true peace and calm natural settings and the evening views over the silver sea of olive trees across the Gulf of Messinia to the rugged cliffs of the Taygetos Mountains - absolute magic - not to be missed!

Easy access either via the new motorway directly from Athens or the convenient Kalamata International Airport.

We have already booked Villa Seeka for our holiday in 2014!

Did I mention they have a sailboat?

It is the best place to be - you.

My husband and I have just returned from 11 days at Fig leaf Villas, there aren't too many things in life you can call perfect but for us this holiday was, there was a lovely warm welcome to the very well equiped, comfortable villa (we had a look at all 3 and they are all lovely) they are set in  glorious gardens with fantastic views over the pool then on out over the sea to the mountains beyond, there is an information pack in the villa (also Quee & Cliff are on hand and are a mine of usefull information), all the attractions, beaches and tavernas we visited from this were excellent and the Tavernas out stripped all our expectations, we are vegetarians and not only is Quees vege cooking wonderful all the Tavernas we visited were welcoming and had a vast choice of vegetarian options, a real must  is the Rock, run by the most friendly people who went out of thier way to cook up new and delicious food for us in a beautiful setting right next to the sea.

The area is littered with historical sites and we were impressed by how well preserved they are, most free and very few people visiting. All the Greek people we met on our travels were genuinely warm and friendly.

We will definately make a return to Fig leaf, I did suggest next week but my husband  thought we had better do some work first.

We stayed at Fig Leaf Villas for the first time for a week in May.  We stayed in the smallest villa (Villa Dafni), but it had everything we needed and more.  The villa was well equipped and very comfortable it had an L shaped verandah with seating on both sides, so that we could enjoy/avoid the sun at different times of the day.  We also had a look at the two other villas and they were also lovely.  The gardens and the swimming pool are just perfect.  There is an excellent information pack in the villa with directions to beaches, shops and attractions, but apart from a few trips out to two of the local tavernas (both excellent) and one morning out to the closest beach - we were the only people on it and felt comfortable being naked, we spent most of our time by the pool or villa because it was just so nice there.  Cliff and Quee were great hosts, there if you needed anything and not intrusive if you didn't.  Quee's cooking was brilliant and there is a poolside bar.  We had been a bit worried about feeling pushed together with people we didn't know, but it just wasn't like that.  If we wanted to be alone, all of the villas have enough outside space to relax in private, but most evenings we sat by the bar with the other guests and had a few meals all together, but there was no pressure to do this, and as it happened our fellow guests were great company too.  We plan to go back next year for longer.

We had our second wonderful holiday at Fig Leaf Villas in May 2015. We agree entirely with all the other comments and we have already booked for 2016 to avoid disappointment. Quee and Cliff have a unique winning formula making ones stay just like visiting dear friends. Long may they continue.

It was real serendipity that we managed to book here at short notice from a cancellation. The welcome we  received from Cliff and Quee was amazing and we felt like part of the family straight away. We had some wonderful meals cooked by Quee and it was lovely to meet up with other guests in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.  Our villa was beautiful, set in gardens  full of flowering bushes and herbs, olive and fig trees, and looking over the sea towards the mountains of the Mani. Naturism can be difficult to adjust to at first but the privacy and peaceful surroundings of the villas make it feel  as normal as being clothed, and the best way to cope with the inevitable heat of Greece. There is plenty to do in the area but it is not over-developed tourist-wise, very much a holiday area for the Greeks themselves. This holiday place really does feel like the Garden of Eden, but no need for fig leaves!

We  stayed the first two weeks of June this year with Quee at Figleaf Villas... and  we both  have to say  our stay there was just heaven!

We hadn`t been to the Greek mainland before, just the islands... & have been to several since we discovered that being nude on a beach was quite lovely in Ios in 1985.... our first trip to Greece. We have followed that through our holidays ever since....going to nude beaches when we can...

Our favourite island has been for many years Skiathos... which we discovered in the mid 90s... with Small Banana beach and a lovely hilltop set of studios literally overlooking the beach..which we`ve repeatedly gone back to, over the years staying in Koukounaries....mostly with our friend Gail...who has a set of small villas on a hill over looking the west coast.....

We didn`t think anywhere could possibly even get close until we found Figleaf Villas and Quee this year.

In actual fact Figleaf surpasses Gails for so many reasons....

The layout is pretty similar to Gails on Skiathos, except Figleaf faces east...the sunrise and the mountains over the Mani peninsular ( which is spectacular!)and where we stay in Koukounaries faces west over the sea the sunset and the Pelion....( also pretty good)

Figleaf is a much smaller venue, ...with just three villas, each one  private from each other , very well equipped with everything you could need.. all set in lovely gardens with the fabulous sea and mountain views, where we can meet socially around the pool during the day... or around the bar by the pool, before departing for one of the many excellent local tavernas in the evening...

The big factor for us at Figleaf is  being able to be naked all the time while at the villas , which is a huge plus...

Quee is so lovely... nothing is too much hassle... and we just got on so well... we feel she has become a lifelong friend just after one trip and several emails back and forth........she also does the most fabulous Indian Head Massage ... an absolute must! So relaxing!!!!

Everything you could possibly want Quee has provided... (even towels for the beach!) ....

We explored the surrounding area and visited many of the beaches, most of which were more of less empty, with loads of space, so nice after the crowded beaches on the islands, Filikounda  on the south coast being our favourite.

We found the Greek mainland so much cheaper than the islands, and so much nicer being less touristy. Whichever supermarket you buy fresh produce in, it all is locally supplied by the surrounding farms, and tastes just great.

We also went out on with Cliff on Rendezvous, a beautiful 43 ft Yacht and sailed down the Mani penisular ... and Cliff let me take the helm for most of the trip.... as I do love a bit of sailing!

We have just booked again for next year and can`t wait to get back!
