Talking about Naturism and being open about our involvement in it helps to normalise social nudity. Many people report feeling relieved once some people around them know - and it can be a real confidence-booster. However, raising the subject and knowing what to say can still sometimes be difficult and so we have created this set of suggestions to help you. It includes:

  • Great ways to introduce Naturism into a conversation
  • Positive messages to engage people's interest and help them to understand why we do it and what we get out of it
  • Dealing with challenges and any awkward questions that might arise

...and we’re all unique.

No, we are each unique; we can't be all unique.

We’re not anti-clothes

Well, some of us are: I hate the damned things, and always have done. My idea of hell is an endless shopping trip looking for trousers that fit me, or shoes! Clothes should not be sold as they are now: the norm should be that each of us has a tailor who will measure us and make clothes that fit!

Naturist people have sex like anyone else

“Naturist people have sex (or don't) like anyone else”, is what I would prefer.

Naturist places tend to have entry requirements and secure gates

That is true, but thereby we create a problem for ourselves in seeming “a race apart” to those on the outside of those gates.

However, a useful article overall: well done.

The idea of casually mentioning that you are a naturist in a conversation seems easiest for me.

Theres no need for a big crescendo beforehand just a friendly conversation.

Totally new to this, joined BN and looking forward to experiencing the natural persona of sharing time with fellow naturists. Walked down Brighton beach, swam, and led the without clothes, and just loved it, my one time experience.

I am doing volunteer work at Countess of Chester County Park and just after joining Wirral Naturists this time last year I was telling my fellow Volunteers about it. I was faced with revulsion  and some hostility if I had been employed it could have much worse.

 It has now settled down.

Although I have been told I am definitely not allowed to be naked in the park if I did they would Finnish me!

Needless to say I love working there and have decided to be less open about it in future.

I have also mentioned it to other people who whilst being a bit shocked! And in one case the lady said I made her laugh.
Our working relationship hasn’t changed. But.?

I know of One other couple in Chester who is a naturist he said it was especially useful when It came to buying clothing for his 2 boys for holidays they didn’t need any.

he told me after I told him I had joined Wirral Naturists. He isn’t a member of Wirral Naturist because he has other musical commitments on Saturday nights when we meet, they are BN members
