  1. A Quest to find more North West venues – will you join us in 2025? We are currently searching for more venues where we can perform more Naked Heart Walks, also venues that could possibly accommodate us for our fabulous campaign, ‘The Great British Skinny Dip’ – we achieved over 600 listings during 2024 nationwide, but with your help we can do much better during 2025 and beyond, raising more funds for our charity partner BHF and expand the list of Naturist friendly venues in the process. I believ
  2. Venues for Naked Heart Walks and Great British Skinny Dips. Working on it...
  3. Forward with the Solway Sun Club. Super Solway Sun Club is a shining example of how an ‘off grid’, landed club can operate without a problem and actually thrive and move forward due to the intelligent usage of efficient solar energy. Most caravan and chalet owners have installed solar technology and often forget they are actually ‘off grid’! It’s even possible to watch TV, if that’s your preference, but the norm at Solway is to socialise clothes free. There is no better place to be at one w
  4. The North West Action group - leading us out of restrictions incrementally with many outdoor events and the September relaunch of the successful Wigton Naturist swim…. With the Beacon Tarn Naked walk and skinny dip and a first ever organised beach day at Roanhead beach near Barrow in Furness under our belts – the latter was well documented by the local paper ‘The Barrow Mail’ and a positive interview drew plenty of attention to our right to take off our clothes on any beach, despite a local
  5. Working for Naturism throughout the pandemic… Due to the ‘Lock down’ situation you would be forgiven for thinking that we are busy doing nothing at BN behind the scenes – when nothing could be further from the truth! All the regional coordinators and other volunteers have been busy beavering away at creating regional and National events. The South West team are busy helping to arrange a camping event at Thorney Lakes in September, The Eastern rep is setting up Garden visits, the Saner rep i
  6. 2021 – Naked Outdoors. 2020 has been a year best forgotten in terms of promoting the usual annual club events in the North West region, so where exactly the New year will take us is – as yet, unsure and difficult to predict. We did manage quite a few member led events such as the Beacon Tarn Naked walk and skinny dip (twice), a handful of beach days including the new find at Roanhead in Cumbria (thanks to Garibaldi Nick) and a Naked evening at Dorothy Clive gardens – thanks to John Rodgers
  7. Looking beyond COVID 19… It’s certainly difficult to predict how long it will be before we can return to enjoying our Naturist lifestyle to the full extent again but what exactly will have changed? We all enjoy flying to a warmer climate and sunbathing naked but will the appetite be there to board an aircraft or book a cruise so readily in the foreseeable future? This is probably doubtful - or at best, debatable. The majority of people I speak to say they would be very reluctant to sim
  8. A British Naturism 'Women in Naturism'  campaign comes to Penketh. As part of the popular ‘Women in Naturism’ campaign, Ladies will be admitted free of charge at the Penketh skinny dip events, with the next event being scheduled for Friday 29th May 7-9pm (subject to change, please check using the link above). Please arrive before 7.20pm - As advertised on the Great British Skinny Dip website. Ladies making their first appearance at a Naturist swim can request a personal welcome with as
  9. We have all been rocked back on our heels recently due to COVID 19 and no one has escaped the effects of this virus, whether it be self isolation, the scampering around for basic items at the supermarkets or more seriously the affects of the illness itself - we are all affected in some way. Social distancing has become the norm and as a result the BN events and campaigns have suffered mind boggling setbacks, but our health takes priority. There has been a tremendous amount of work performed duri
  10. A British Naturism Beach Cleaning Day. Following a casual tweet from the BN families officer (Shan Allen) in response to reading about Beach Clean Days on Twitter, suggesting that Naturists could perhaps become involved with these, the Daily Mail latched on to this thread and have been in touch with our Commercial manager (Andrew Welch), hopefully we will hear more! A recent post on the forum brought a great deal of offers from members to promote these locally on their own designated beache
  11. Happy Birthday Wigton!  Yes, the Wigton Naturist swim, which is now a permanent monthly Great British Skinny Dip, is almost 12 months old and still going strong. The locals are now supporting this swim in their numbers, taking over the initiative, which was well supported initially by the many friends we have in the North West and Saner regions. The swim still offers amazing value at just £5 per person - please bring I.D. for your first visit. The inaugural trial swim was held on the 1
  12. Spectrum Naturist Club – A weekly swim gem! Having a business rendezvous in Birmingham, we decided to take the chance to visit the superbly rated Spectrum swim, a club based on the south side of Birmingham and one we hadn’t covered previously. The club meets every Saturday evening in the Morris Centre which is the leisure facility for NHS staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Transport to the site is excellent. The University Railway station on the Cross City line is a mere 500 metres
  13. Expanding GBSD in the North West and beyond! Ever thought you could possibly make a difference by volunteering to help and always wanted to get involved with helping British Naturism move forward in our region? If so there are lots of venues out there that haven’t yet been approached to hold naked swimming sessions in their swimming pools. If we don’t knock on doors they won’t open! There are currently too few volunteers attempting to expand and create within a region  that stretches
  14. 2020 Let's dive right in!   Where will 2020 take us? We will certainly have plenty of choice with a variety of options at our disposal so we needn’t have a vacant weekend with nothing to do – we are more likely to have Nothing on! Now is the time to plan your Naturist year ahead…visit  North West News Online Whether it be one of the national BN events you would like to book or you might fancy a visit to one of our region’s ten landed clubs and nine swim venues, (some of whic
